I'm moving my blog to http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/coltsmom414/.  Please come by there for future entries.  You can subscribe to my blog from there.  I've decided to move, because homeschool blogger gives me a lot of features that Xanga doesn't offer (unless you pay) for free.  I would love to have you subscribe to my new blog!  See you there!!  I am also trying to consolidate 3 different blogs into 1...lot less confusing for me.  I'll keep my xanga open and I'll continue visiting the friends that I've made here.

Friday at Godfrey Homestead

God is so good!! We got an unexpected check in the mail today that will ease our money sorrows!!! I know that we are not destined to be rich, but we are wealthy in love and family! Today has been another chilly one, and the sun is still not out. Today is payday, so I'll be going to the grocery store this evening and run some errands.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 (9 oz.) cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar

Directions
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Place flour mixture in 1-quart jar. Layer remaining ingredients in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer. Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.

RECIPE TO ATTACH:

Beat 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended. Add cookie mix and 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional); mix well, breaking up any clumps. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in preheated 375° F. oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Three New Layouts

Thursday at Godfrey Homestead

Another chilly morning here, I love it when the mornings start getting crisp and you see you breath in the air! This morning I am so thankful for this wonderful life the Lord has given me! I always get a bit melancholy when the seasons change...it's a good time to reflect and think about the events that have happened during the season that is ending and looking forward to the events of the future season. I have so much to be thankful for and I am so grateful for all that the Lord has given me! There was a time when I longed for the biggest, brightest and most expensive....you know, that castle in the sky. I never dreamed that I would be living in a small, humble home on a farm. I always dreamed of going shopping and filling my new SUV to the gills with new clothes and things, but now I realize that dream was just a silly child's dream...I have all I ever need in my Lord, my family and my humble little home. I feel like a Princess in my thrift store dresses because I know that I am the Daughter of THE King!

If you haven't done it yet, I would love for you to sign my Frappr Map! I would love to see how many people from different states read my blog!

Remove from oven, and cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes.
