This morning I am so thankful for this wonderful life the Lord has given me! I always get a bit melancholy when the seasons change...it's a good time to reflect and think about the events that have happened during the season that is ending and looking forward to the events of the future season. I have so much to be thankful for and I am so grateful for all that the Lord has given me! There was a time when I longed for the biggest, brightest and most expensive....you know, that castle in the sky. I never dreamed that I would be living in a small, humble home on a farm. I always dreamed of going shopping and filling my new SUV to the gills with new clothes and things, but now I realize that dream was just a silly child's dream...I have all I ever need in my Lord, my family and my humble little home. I feel like a Princess in my thrift store dresses because I know that I am the Daughter of THE King!

Riley had been in a bad mood all morning...I don't think he's still feeling really well yet and Colt has been into everything and has been louder than usual. BUT, even with all that, I did get some things done :)

I finished another crocheted scarf

you can find the pattern on my yarn website. The pattern is on my blog there

I finished my Christmas Digital Scrapbooking Kit

You can download it at my Scrapbooking website. Just click on the Freebies link

I'm now working on my 3rd crocheted scarf this week...it's just like the one above. I'm making my brother and his son matching camo scarves for Christmas :)

Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. He's not running any fever, so I'm doing a happy dance and am praying that it's over. Today, I need to get caught up on laundry and work on my crocheted Christmas gifts. I'm nearly finished with another scarf...think I'll get it done today. I need a totoal of 8, luckly, they only take a couple of days to finish. I'm still working on my knitting and I'm getting a little faster at it. Right now, all I know how to do is the knit stitch, but once I get the hang of it, I'll add the Purl stitch. I'm working on a knitted scarf for myself and a knitted wash cloth for my husband (his request!).

It's chilly here today, so I'm still wishing I was in my warm bed! I need to feed the animals and do laundry then feed the kids lunch. Just another day on the farm!! If I get the time today, I'm going to try my hand at making some digital scrapbooking paper...we'll see how it works out! Well I'm off to catch up with my blog reads!!

Join my Frapper Map! Please feel free to join, I would love to see where everyone is at!! you can join by clicking HERE!

This is my first winter wearing dresses only and I do a lot of farm work outside, plus we heat our house only with wood and kerosene heaters (no central heat!). So far this is what I've been doing to keep warm. I wear layers of clothes.

1st layer - undergarments
2nd layer - a long sleeve t shirt (a little tight and stretchy) and tights or leggings
3rd layer - flannel pj bottoms (cut to capri length, just below the knee) and my shirt and socks & shoes
4th layer - skirt or jumper
5th layer - cardigan sweater
6th layer - winter coat and gloves

Granted I live in Texas and it hasn't gotten too cold here yet, but I've given this a lot of thought since I have so many outside chores. So far, by doing this, my legs have stayed warm and so has the rest of me. For example, today I'm wearing 3 layers (undergarments, pj bottoms, long sleeve t shirt, skirt, socks& shoes, cotton long sleeve shirt, and cardigan sweater) and am plenty warm in the house without any fire or heat (except my hands which STAY cold all winter).

If anyone else has some ideas, PLEASE share them! I want to be warm and comfortable all winter!!

The fever goes away during the day, but comes back in the

appear to be an ear infection. If he's still running
fever in the morning, I'll take him to the doctor.
